Going to COVID-19 Level 1

It is pleasing to see that New Zealand, again, has COVID-19 under control and the Alert Level will be coming down to level 1 from Wednesday 7 October 2020.

Life is almost back to normal (apart from the lack of overseas travel). On the evening of 7 October 2020, we will modify our practice in Retina Specialists to reflect the low risk of COVID-19 in the community.

Masks will no longer be mandatory for our patients. Many of our doctors are choosing to take a cautious approach and may continue to wear a mask during your consultation.  While masks are no longer mandatory for our patients at level 1, we are happy for you to wear one if you wish to and can supply a mask if necessary

You are welcome to bring support people with you for your appointment. We would kindly request you to sign in either using the COVID tracer app, or manually on our visitor log. Of course, if you have any upper respiratory tract infection symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, fever, etc.), please postpone your appointment and contact your general practitioner if you would require a COVID test.

There is no change to our intensive cleaning practice, so you can be reassured that the risk of environmental contamination during your visit is minimal.
